A real girl, playing real games. In real life.
So, I’ve decided to come out of my cave and blog about being a not-so pretty girl who plays video games. While I don’t have a face that only a mother could love, I’m what you could call plainly average. I’m not going to post pictures of myself half-dressed and performing oral gratifications on my console systems because I’d like to keep my dignity. Well, to be honest, while I’m somewhat disgusted about how girls portray themselves sometimes, there are many good female gamers out there. We used to be such a small minority and kept in gilded cages by mommy constantly asking us, “When will you ever stop playing video games?”
Sorry, mom, I don’t think I ever will. True story. My sisters and my mother used to ask me every year if I would grow out of it and the answer was always “no.” Ever since the advent of modern gaming the stereotype of gaming being for guys and insanely overweight girls is slowly being tucked away. Plug in “girl gamers” on google and you’ll find some hot chickadees on the net now a days. Not me tho’, I’m just plain as could be, but I’m sure you’ll read that I’m much more than that.
I prefer RPGs and adventure type games, however I do have a soft spot for Mortal Kombat. And believe me, I’ve got words about the new game in that series released, but I’ll save that for another post.
I currently own: Wii, PS3, PS2, PSP, Multiple PCs and a laptop, and finally a DS. What I’d love to get next is an XBOX360 because… hey.. why not? Everyone else has one.
I <3 my PSP and have a somewhat awkward relationship with my nintendo Wii. Hopefully I can make this blog more exciting to read. So stay tuned all you folks in internet land.
Casey
